Spied: 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Limo in Performance AMG Specification

The closest you'll get to a performance orientated model in the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan range (codenamed W222) is no doubt the two AMG-branded and –developed models to be sold under the S63 and S65 AMG monikers.

There is no question that the prototype S-Class spied by our scoop photographers while filing up at a gas station in Germany is one of the two AMG models, and thanks to the square tail pipes, we can tell you that this is most likely the S63 variant as the S65 features twin oval-shaped exhausts on either side of the bumper.

As such, the S63 AMG will feature a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, which in its current form delivers 530hp (537PS) at 5,500 rpm and 590 lb-ft (800Nm) from 2,000 to 4,500 rpm in standard trim, and 556bhp (564PS) and 664 lb-ft (900Nm) with the optional performance package.
