Driver Passes Car Through the Eye of a Needle

Here's one incident that could have easily led to a horrific crash with multiple fatalities, but which, thanks to a little bit of luck and a cool-headed reaction from the driver of the car with the dashboard camera, was luckily evaded.

The driver of a white Lada Samara hatchback grossly underestimated the speeding capabilities of his car and foolishly attempted to overtake a bus on a two lane (one for each direction) road.

The camera-equipped vehicle passed right in between the Lada and the Samara without touching any of the two.

If you were to begin viewing this video from the 20-second mark and on, you would be excused to think that the driver and his passenger simply parked their beaten up Lada Riva Estate (VAZ-2107) in the middle of the road and left to go on to their work or wherever else they were heading to.

Watch the clip from the start, though, and you will be surprised to learn that a couple of seconds earlier, they had just smashed into the black Toyota Land Cruiser you see sitting behind the Lada!

If there was ever a driver more eager to stop upon being signaled by police officers on foot, it would be the person sitting behind the wheel of this black-colored Lada Niva (some of you may also know the rugged 4x4 as the VAZ-2121).

The Niva was traveling on the road when all of a sudden; two Russian traffic cops came out of the woods and walked inside the first lane to signal the driver to stop.

It could be that the driver of this dark-blue VAZ-2104, better known under its Lada nameplate out of Russia, could be thinking why the heck are all these cars going the wrong way or perhaps he or she was too wasted to know what was going on at the time.

All we know is that several drivers on this highway should consider themselves extremely fortunate for not getting into a deadly head-on collision with Russia's version of the "Kamikaze" act and just hope that we don’t discover a related dash-cam video over the next couple of days…

Earlier today, we shared a dash-cam video of two truck drivers in Russia ganging up (to some extent) on a passenger car that had attempted to overtake them.

Now, another video of a group of truckers that was recorded on September 9 has been making the internet and even television rounds in Russia – and this one is far more violent.

This video of an old Lada sedan peeking out from a gigantic nest of hay that is resting on its roof (and which may or may not have been filmed in Russia), just begs for some comical captions.

The 'bad hay day' in our article's title is the first thing that popped in our heads upon viewing the clip but we are pretty sure that you can come up with better captions that we would just love to read in the comments section that follows beneath the jump.

While we don't condone violence of any kind, we can understand and perhaps explain why the pedestrian seen in this video reacted like the…the Karate Kid in this situation filmed in the land of dashcams and low-flying military air-crafts.

The young Russian man was using the pedestrian crossing when a furious old Lada came speeding around the corner only marginally stopping before it hit him.

No need to explain why speeding between vehicles stuck in traffic with a motorcycle, especially when its pouring rain, is a recipe for disaster.

On the other hand, perhaps we do since some riders insist upon placing themselves in danger like this motorcyclist, who was kind enough to share his painful story as it was recorded by his helmet-mounted camera.

One of the more impressive debuts from Russia's local auto industry at the ongoing 2012 Moscow International Auto Salon is the Lada X Ray, a concept for a small, three-door crossover model.

You have probably already seen the pictures but now we have two videos of the prototype to share with you including one that shows the car in motion on the road.

Our Russian tipster tells us that in this video we see a student getting way over his (or her) head during a driving lesson in a Lada 112 liftback in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny.

Though we cannot verify if it was the teacher or the student controlling the wheel, fact is that the driver was going much faster that he or she should have, especially given the traffic on the road.

Given that, as we have witnessed so many times, pulling out a weapon for the slightest of reasons is not at all uncommon during road rage episodes in Russia, this incident is just about as funny and innocent as it gets.

For some unknown and quite possibly insignificant reason, two drivers were bickering back and forth on the road until they came to a stop at a red light. And here's when it all begins.

Not a day goes by without a dashboard camera capturing some insane and most of the times, largely inexplicable episodes on Russian roads.

In this incident that occurred last Wednesday, a beaten up hatchback – always a sure sign for trouble, overtook (illegally) the camera-equipped car, something that agitated both the driver and its passengers.

A slow moving tractor pulling a tanker-like trailer without any lights or reflectors at night is an accident just waiting to happen and guess what; it did but it wasn't the tractor that received the bad news.

In this episode of Carscoop's "Meanwhile in Russia", we begin with a reckless truck driver trying to overtake another lorry on a two-lane road. No doubt, this could have ended much, much worse if the driver of the oncoming passenger car hadn't reacted the way he did, ultimately saving his own life.

Our next motorist was not as lucky as he did not have the time or the opportunity to react after a Lada hatchback on another lane began to aquaplane across the road before he crashed right into it.

Driving too close to a vehicle in front of you, especially a truck that obscures your view of the road ahead, is just asking for trouble.

And indeed, trouble is what the driver of a Lada Niva 4x4 received when he got up close and personal to a large lorry on a Russian highway as he was swinging left to right in an attempt to overpass it.

Here's further proof that you don't really have to try to think of new jokes about Lada's vehicles as the Russian brand's models are always ready to provide new material just by existing and traveling on the roads.
