Acura Sends Off ZDX with a Facelift for its Final Year, Should we Say Good Riddance?

The Acura ZDX is a mid-size, luxury crossover that was launched in 2009 with the goal of rivaling the successful BMW X6. And we all know how that turned out; the ZDX failed miserably in its mission, shifting only 1,564 units in 2011 and a mere 416 in the first half of 2012.

Breaking: Honda Confirms New Civic Type R, Jazz / Fit Based Small SUV and Sports Roadster

There's a whole lot of news - but unfortunately, no pictures, coming out today from Honda's headquarters in Japan where the company's CEO Takanobu Ito outlined the product, technology and business developments through 2015.

We are going to start with the new Honda Civic Type R sports hatchback based on the European market model that is currently undergoing development for an introduction in 2015.

Honda said that this model is designed specifically for the European market, though we could see it being exported to Japan at some point. On a more global note, Ito said that Honda will roll out an all-new replacement for the Fit, also known as the Jazz in Europe, in 2013. Within two years after the initial market presentation, the Japanese automaker will launch a small SUV model based on the underpinnings of the new Fit/Jazz as well as a replacement for the related City small sedan.

There are a couple of things about these renderings that immediately caught our attention, the first being the car shown here is essentially identical to the North American 2013 Honda Accord sedan revealed in the beginning of August and the second that it is wearing German license plates.

2013 Acura ILX and 2012 Honda CR-V Recalled Because Doors May Open "Unexpectedly"

An issue with the front door latches of the new 2012 Honda CR-V crossover and 2013 Acura ILX compact sedan is forcing Honda to voluntarily recall more than 170,000 vehicles in the United States over 20,000 in Canada.

The Japanese carmaker said that simultaneous operation of the driver's or passenger's inner door handle and either the manual or power door lock may lead to a problem that causes the door to not latch properly and possibly open unexpectedly.
