The all-aluminum Range Rover has been designed from scratch and will be available in Europe with three powertrains: the 3.0-liter TDV6 and the 4.4-liter SDV8 diesels, as well as the top-of the-Range (pun intended) supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that packs 503HP and accelerates the luxury model from 0-60 mph in just 5.1 seconds.

Jaguar Land Rover Mulling Assembly Plant in Saudi Arabia

Aluminum is playing an increasingly important role in the construction of Jaguar-Land Rover’s (JLR) new models, in an effort to decrease weight and thus, reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

The most recent example is the brand-new Range Rover that will make its official debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

The use of an all-aluminum monocoque body, which is 39 percent lighter than the outgoing model’s conventional, steel body, and the aluminum front and rear chassis members have resulted in the new SUV weighing a whopping 420 kg (920 pounds) less than the previous model, depending on specification.

While many have and will continue to focus their attention on the sleek evolution of the Range Rover's traditional looks and the modernized interior that is influenced by the Evoque, it's what you don't see that truly makes the fourth generation of the British SUV stand out from its predecessors.

New Photos of 2013 Range Rover Including First Shot of the Interior

Earlier today, we shared a pair of photos of the 2013 Range Rover. At the time and due to the low quality of the images, we weren't 100 percent sure whether they were real or the result of some crafty photoshop work.

Well, now, thanks to a Russian website that dropped high-resolution versions of those photos and then some more including the first image of the SUVs interior, we can say that this is indeed Land Rover's brand new 2013 Range Rover.

Beginning with the interior, it quickly becomes clear that the smaller Evoque heavily influenced the modern and de-cluttered design of the 2013 Range Rover's dashboard that sports a large multimedia screen on the center console and a sizeable electronic display for the instrument gauges.

The flagship Land Rover model also gets a Jaguar-style rotary gear selector, as first seen on the XF, for controlling the eight-speed automatic transmission. Right behind are the controls for the Land Rover Terrain Response system.

The cabin in this model features three different colors of leather along with wood and aluminum trims.

Are These the First Official Photos of the 2013 Range Rover?

Land Rover hasn't exactly managed to keep the new 2013 Range Rover under wraps with spies even getting a few shots of the luxury SUV at its UK plant, but today, a pair of allegedly official photos have been making the internet rounds.

The two pictures made their way on various forums and sites including Ovalnews and Jalopnik, with one of the images appearing to be sourced from Auto Express, which has since removed the photo from the web post (though you can still see it here).

While we cannot vouch for the authenticity of the images just yet, what we see here seems to match the 2013 Range Rover prototype models spied over the past year or so.
