New Range Rover and the Defender from 007’s New Skyfall Flick Debut in Paris [w/Video]

While the F-Type was Jaguar's most anticipated new car launch at the 2012 Paris Auto Show, its sister company Land Rover had its own special premieres.

The first was the world debut of the all-new, fourth-generation Range Rover, which was displayed in its entire range at Land Rover's stand.

The all-aluminum Range Rover has been designed from scratch and will be available in Europe with three powertrains: the 3.0-liter TDV6 and the 4.4-liter SDV8 diesels, as well as the top-of the-Range (pun intended) supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that packs 503HP and accelerates the luxury model from 0-60 mph in just 5.1 seconds.

Land Rover Mulling a Smaller Crossover than the Evoque

There’s no denying that the Evoque, the most compact model ever to wear the Range Rover badge, has been a smash hit for the company, having sold more than 90,000 units since its launch last year.

In fact, JATO Dymanics reports that European sales of the Evoque, which is available as a three- and five-door, were 27,685 vehicles in the first half of 2012; that’s almost as much of the rest of Land Rover’s range combined (29,891). In order to meet demand, JLR’s Halewood plant is working around the clock for the first time ever in its 50-year history.

Jaguar-Land Rover to Celebrate James Bond's Golden Anniversary at Paris Auto Show [w/Video]

The last time we saw a Jaguar in a 007 flick it was 10 years ago in Die Another Day: the car was a previous-generation XKR convertible driven by the villain, while Bond drove an Aston Martin Vanquish.

It was the last Bond film starring Pierce Brosnan and at the time, both companies were part of Ford’s Premier Automotive Group. Nowadays, Daniel Craig has replaced Brosnan, the fictional secret agent’s storyline has been rebooted and Ford has since sold Jaguar and Aston Martin.

As you see for yourself in the pictures, the upcoming addition to the recently revealed 2013 Range Rover Mk4 lineup sports a longer wheelbase (reportedly around 150mm / 5.9 inches) and longer rear doors.

Meanwhile in Russia No13: Acrobatic Crash, a Manic Fire Truck, Range Rover Facelift and a Failed Carjack

Something tells us that even if the driver featured in the above screen shot and the first video after the break tried to repeat this feat, he probably wouldn't succeed.

The man in the white sedan looks like he wasn't paying attention to the road and clipped the black Opel Astra in front him, which pushed the car on its two wheels on the driver's side for a few seconds before it landed safely on the ground.

Land Rover Officially Reveals 2013 Range Rover SUV, Sheds up to 926lbs or 420kg [w/Video]

After the unexpected viewing of the first photos of the 2013 Range Rover earlier today, Land Rover has come out with an official announcement detailing its bigger, lighter and more modern looking luxury SUV.

While many have and will continue to focus their attention on the sleek evolution of the Range Rover's traditional looks and the modernized interior that is influenced by the Evoque, it's what you don't see that truly makes the fourth generation of the British SUV stand out from its predecessors.

You see, the 2013 Range Rover features a new all-aluminium monocoque body structure that is 39 per cent lighter than the steel body in the outgoing model. In addition, there's an all-new aluminium front and rear chassis architecture.

New Photos of 2013 Range Rover Including First Shot of the Interior

Earlier today, we shared a pair of photos of the 2013 Range Rover. At the time and due to the low quality of the images, we weren't 100 percent sure whether they were real or the result of some crafty photoshop work.

Well, now, thanks to a Russian website that dropped high-resolution versions of those photos and then some more including the first image of the SUVs interior, we can say that this is indeed Land Rover's brand new 2013 Range Rover.

Beginning with the interior, it quickly becomes clear that the smaller Evoque heavily influenced the modern and de-cluttered design of the 2013 Range Rover's dashboard that sports a large multimedia screen on the center console and a sizeable electronic display for the instrument gauges.

The flagship Land Rover model also gets a Jaguar-style rotary gear selector, as first seen on the XF, for controlling the eight-speed automatic transmission. Right behind are the controls for the Land Rover Terrain Response system.

The cabin in this model features three different colors of leather along with wood and aluminum trims.

Are These the First Official Photos of the 2013 Range Rover?

Land Rover hasn't exactly managed to keep the new 2013 Range Rover under wraps with spies even getting a few shots of the luxury SUV at its UK plant, but today, a pair of allegedly official photos have been making the internet rounds.

The two pictures made their way on various forums and sites including Ovalnews and Jalopnik, with one of the images appearing to be sourced from Auto Express, which has since removed the photo from the web post (though you can still see it here).

While we cannot vouch for the authenticity of the images just yet, what we see here seems to match the 2013 Range Rover prototype models spied over the past year or so.

And Not a Single Blip Was Given that Day: The Range Rover Edition

While you may have had a naughty chuckle or two with our previous 'blip' video, this incident is no laughing matter.

The driver of a Range Rover either passed through or made a U-turn (we cannot say for sure) on a double line road without paying attention to the oncoming traffic.

Scoop: Next Range Rover Sport gets Some Time on the Nürburgring

Given that Range Rover (regular or Sport) drivers devote if not all, most of their ride time on the road, it shouldn't surprise anyone that Land Rover engineers are honing the next generation of the firm's full size SUV at the Nürburgring in Germany.

The same 2014 Range Rover Sport prototype with the faux Volvo mask that our spies photographed in Germany last month has now been caught on film while performing a few quick laps on the Nordschleife.

2013 Land Rover Range Rover Exposed in Leaked Shot

A single picture of the 2013 Range Rover SUV caught without any camouflage other than a light protective white skin on its clamshell bonnet made its way online today, courtesy of MotorAuthority (not the spy shots you see pictured here).

The image along with the article, however, was pulled down from the site without any explanation, but not before it made a world tour around the internet. If you missed out, our Dutch friends over at Autoblog.nl as well as Edmund's Insideline are just some of the sites that reposted the revealing picture.

Scoop: Land Rover Masks New 2014 Range Rover Sport as a…Volvo

Not that you can do much to hide the identity of any full-size Range Rover model…especially when it’s entering the brand's facility at the Nürburgring, but Land Rover engineers tried to confuse our spy photographers with a Volvo-like grille on one of their Range Rover Sport prototypes.

Like the current model, the next Range Rover Sport is a more dynamic looking variation of the larger Range Rover SUV.

Artist Imagines Sporty Range Rover Evoque R with Supercharged V6

A string of unsubstantiated rumors concerning Land Rover's intent to develop a high-performance version of the Range Rover Evoque provided the inspiration for a digital mockup of what such a model could look like from the crew over at PS-Garage.

The so-called Range Rover Evoque R was envisioned as a three-door model powered by the Jaguar-Land Rover group's newly announced 3.0-liter supercharged V6 delivering up to 375hp (380PS) and 460Nm (339 lb-ft) in the upcoming Jaguar F-Type roadster.
